ABOUT

Ulises Ramos is a Mexican-born artist based in Sahuarita, Arizona. Originally from Mexicali and raised in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Ramos draws deeply from his bicultural experiences. He earned his Associate of Fine Arts from Pima Community College in 2018 and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of Arizona in 2023.

Ramos’s practice centers on the human figure, expressive line work, and a reflective exploration of identity, memory, and self-discovery. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including Best of Show, Best of Printmaking, and Best Drawing at the Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery’s Juried Student Exhibition. His artwork has also been published in Sandscript, Pima Community College’s literary magazine.

In Fall 2025, Ramos will attend the Tamarind Institute’s Printer Training Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he will continue to refine his technical skills in collaborative lithography and expand his community-based printmaking practice.
